Canoe and Kayak

Among the different river sports, kayaking was the first to be introduced in the Noce River and is the most ‘technical’ one, the one that requires more commitment, perseverance and time. Of course, the effort to learn paddling and kayaking techniques is amply rewarded by the adrenaline triggered by a descent into the river rapids, during which you are the one to decide trajectories, movements and reaction times to the current.

    • JUST TECHNIQUE, ADRENALINE AND CURRENT?

Of course not, kayaking and canoeing can also be practiced in very quiet stretches of river, where the descent becomes a pleasant and relaxing paddle to admire the Val di Sole from an unusual perspective. In recent years, some rafting centres in Val di Sole have also offered the opportunity for canoe trips to nearby Val di Non, on Lake Santa Giustina and in the spectacular canyons of Rio Novella.

    • FIUME NOCE, INTERNATIONAL AWARDS.

The proof that the Noce river lends itself very well to the practice of canoeing came in 1993, when the Val di Sole hosted the Canoe-Kayak World Championships focused on downhill and slalom. Further international recognition came from ‘Kayaking Holidays’, the portal dedicated to the world of canoeing, which included the Noce among the ten best rivers in the world (the only European river) for kayaking.

    • WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU NEED?

The necessary equipment – kayak, paddle, wetsuit, splash guard, life jacket, helmet and water jacket – is provided by the rafting and canoe centres. You will only have to wear comfortable shoes and bring a towel and a change of clothes.

    • WHO CAN YOU CONTACT?

You can decide to attend courses for beginners or more experienced people, or to rely on the professionalism of an instructor and opt for the two-seater canoe descent.
