Val di Pejo

Stelvio Park

The territory of the Stelvio Park is one of the largest protected areas in Europe. With its morphological variety and unevenness, the Park guarantees a home to various species of animals including deer, roe deer, marmots, foxes, ibex, chamois and hares. Since 1935 this has been a protected place established precisely to preserve life and a faunal ecosystem as varied as it is delicate.

On the tops of these mountains and in these woods, rare birds decide to nest, including the golden eagle, the very symbol of the protected area. Together with the eagle also the partridge, the ptarmigan, the raven, the owl, the buzzard and, thanks to a well done reintroduction work, also the bearded vulture.

The Stelvio Park is a magical place, where the different species are able to face the winter and live in peace. There is no shortage of reptiles, amphibians and fish, which furrow the numerous watery areas of the Park and the alpine lakes set among splendid peaks. The Park allows visitors to carry out various activities to learn more about the surrounding nature and get in touch with an uncontaminated environment: Alpine guides have been accompanying people to these peaks for years and act as guardians of these characteristic places.

An environment that is made up of truly evocative sceneries, where the high mountains give way to green pastures and valleys, including our magnificent Val di Pejo, and a lively and vibrant forest of spruce, larch and shrubs that every season they change color and make us participate in an indispensable show for us humans and that we have a duty to protect, that of nature.
